The Ministry of Construction Engineering Service, Housing and Common Amenities is organizing this Ceremony to felicitate and encourage institutional professionals and skilled technicians in various sectors engaged in the Construction field.
It is very clear that the Minister in charge of the portfolio Wimal Weerawansa is facilitating and guiding the construction sector with a clear vision and awareness on the services that should be discharged at this juncture and its nature in order to upgrade the future of our construction industry to a positive position. This can be further clarified when perusing the broad-based task that is being discharged by the Ministry of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities
Accordingly, Sri Lanka’s construction sector has achieved a 22% growth and through :Mahabhimani Awards it is aimed to attract young blood to the construction field and also to sustain this growth rate.
The "Mahabhimani 2014" is being jointly organized by the Institute of Construction Training Development (ICTAD) and the National Construction Association of Sri Lanka (NCASL) and under the leadership of Minister Wimal Weerawansa, Minister of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities and the guidance and patronage of the Ministry.
Senior Ministers Piyasena Gamage, Bandula Gunawardena, Wimal Weerawansa, Deputy Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna were among those present. (KH)
