Members of Parliament of the government and Opposition have been informed by Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa in writing to forward their suggestions and recommendations to amend the Standing Orders of Parliament, Deputy Speaker Chandima Weerakkody said today.
Deputy Speaker Weerakkody said that the Speaker had sent a letter to 224 MPs each requesting their opinions on amending the Standing Orders of Parliament following a decision reached at the party leaders’ meeting held recently.
The MPs are requested to send their suggestions to amend the Standing Orders should be by Nov 01 to the Speaker’s Office, the Deputy Speaker said.(Special Reporter/HC)
