The Museum, Library and the Chaitya complex have been constructed at a cost of Rs. 45 million under the guidance of Ven. Bandarawela Nanda Thero. The President unveiled the plaque and opened the new building complex. The President also participated in an inspection tour of the museum as well.

A large number of lay monks including the Chief Prelate of Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte, the Chief Prelate of the Sri Kalyani Sama Sangri Dharma Maha Sangha, Ven. Iththepane Dhammalankara Thero, Ven Doctor Kotugoda Dhammawasa Thero and several others were olso present on this occasion.
