    President has a clear vision about the country - Ven. Vijayamaithri Nayaka Thero Featured

    President Maithripala Sirisena has a clear vision about the country that most leaders in the present era do not have and also has a visionary programme together with determination to prosper this country, said the Deputy Registrar of the Sri Lanka Ramanna Maha Nikaya, Ven. Nedagamuwe Vijayamaithri Nayaka Thero.

    No one can ignore the role he played alone so far without the support of the opposition or the government for the betterment of the country and if this effort is strengthened with the cooperation of all, the people of the country can have a clear expectation about building a better future, the Nayaka Thero further stated.A religious ceremony was held today (03), with the participation of President Sirisena to unveil the kotha (pinnacle) of the newly built Chaitya at the Nigrodama Purana Vihara in Udugampola, Weediyawatta. The Nayaka Thero made these remarks delivering the main sermon at the event.

    The Nayaka Thero further said that the great service rendred by President Maithripala Sirisena for the advancement of the Sambuddha Sasana of Sri Lanka, and to build a better society for children is a significant task that no any other leader was able to fulfill.President Sirisena who visited the Nigrodama Purana Vihara first engaged in the religious observances and obtained blessings.

    Then the President unveiled the plaque and offered the first pooja.The President said that providing assistance to temples and protecting the Sangha network is a vital part in creating a good society while stating that Sri Lanka has become a disciplined country due to the Buddhist culture. The most venerable Theppanawe Suneetha Thero and the President then exchanged felicitation mementos.Anunayaka Thera of the Ramanna Nikaya Waragoda Pemarathana Thero and number of other Theros along with the members of Parliament Lasantha Alagiyawanna and Edward Gunasekara were present on the occasion.
