The Minister said so in response to a question raised by UNP Matara District MP Buddhika Pathirana.
Minister Gunawardena said that there was no methane or mercury in drinking water in Kandy and therefore no need of testing them. “Drinking water in Kandy is the best and we always distribute only the best for consumption. We request the backbencher MP not to spread lies on food and water. You may be able to create short-living panic but that is bankrupt politics,” the minister said. (Special Reporter/HC)
