This Awards Ceremony was jointly organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs and the Arts Council of Sri Lanka with the aim of felicitating the individuals in the local musical industry who rendered a great service for the development of the field.

The President presented special awards to the musicians for their valuable services in the field of music.

Minister Wijayadasa Rajapakse, scholars and artists including State Musical Advisory Board Chairman Samantha Herath and many others participated in this event.
