President Maithripala Sirisena unveiled the statue of Minneriya Deity built at the Minneriya Devala premises, near Minneriya tank. It was reconstructed under the “Pibidemu Polonnaruwa” development project.
The statue was reconstructed with a financial contribution of Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy and the officers of the Sri Lanka Air Force Base, Hingurakgoda offering their generous labour.
Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya was also present at the occasion.
