    Int’l goodwill will be used to build a better future for children – President

    President Maithripala Sirisena said yesterday (6th Nov.) that the government uses the international assistance for Sri Lanka, gained through a good and friendly foreign policy for the development of the country and to build a better future for the children.

     

    The President made these remarks at the ceremony to open the new Administrative Unit of Deiyandara National School in Matara. The President who arrived at the school was warmly welcomed by the students. He opened the new building by unveiling the plaque.

     

    Speaking further, President Sirisena said the current government is fulfilling its responsibilities to build a prosperous country by strengthening of the country’s economy, as well as by providing a better education for the children.

     

    “We should create a strong intellectual base to take the country towards the development. The current government is fulfilling a task which no government had performed before to strengthen the free education”, he emphasized.

     

    Ministers Mahinda Amaraweera, Faizer Mustafa, Chief Minister of the Southern Province Shan Vijayalal de Silva and principal of the school Mr. W. W. Amarasena also participated in this occasion.
