    Children’s Day should be used to build a righteous society for children – President Featured

    “In this society which calculates value of people’s lives with money, World Children’s Day should be used to build a righteous society for children”, said President Maithripala Sirisena.

     

    He emphasized the need to heal the society which focuses only on money and transform it into a society which loves the children and values the humanity.

     

    The President was speaking at the children’s concert held yesterday (1st Oct.) at the BMICH to mark World Children’s Day.

     

    The concert themed ‘Supasan Parisarayak – Suhuru Diviyak’ was organized by the Urban Development Authority to present the skills of the children, living in urban flats.

     

    The President stated the most valuable gift we can give the children is knowledge and education. “Similarly, discipline and humanity should also be developed among them”, he added.

     

    “Similar to the way that the knowledge and education  is provided to the children at schools, religious leaders, politicians, government officers and all responsible persons in the society should fulfill their responsibilities create a disciplined young generation” the President further said.

     

    “In each era there were several people who beautified Colombo Town but not the lives of the people living there”, he said and added these kinds of programs will bring the children a new dawn.

     

    Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka and the Deputy Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna also participated on this occasion.
