    September 29, 2017

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremeisnghe said that the government expects to strengthen the economy by attracting foreign investments to the tune of Rs 600 billion during the next two to three years.

He made these comments at the commencement of the third stage construction of the housing project for mid-income professionals on 28th September in Kulasevanawatta, Kottawa.

Many people thought that the economy would collapse due to the problems and challenges the country faced, but the government was able to ensure economic stability. In the next two years the government has to pay some more debt. We will do it and increase the economic growth through private investments and create job opportunities as well as increase income, PM said.

There is a plan to expand the Maharagama city next year. The project we are starting today is the fifth housing project in the Colombo District and the government has allocated Rs 18 billion for it, he added.
