The Week of National Food Production Battle will cover the entire country, with the participation of all relevant ministries and departments connected to agriculture, the farming community, youth activists, students, state and private sector entrepreneurs and the local government institutions.
The 5th of October has been declared as the Farmers’ Day, 6th of October for the students, 7th of October as the Livestock Day, and 8th of October as the entrepreneur’s day.
The aim of this week is to carry forward the National Food Production program with a new motivation.
The President emphasized that an agricultural revolution is needed to face challenges due to climate change. He also instructed the officials to make that process efficient by taking the assistance of the Presidential Secretariat, affiliated ministries and the private sector. He also inquired for new suggestions and ideas in this regard.
The President further instructed the officials to pay their attention to provide seed under a special relief scheme for the farmers in the drought-affected areas and to pay attention to use organic fertilizer instead of chemical fertilizer.
The President also advised the official to apprise the public to use their abandoned farmland for cultivation process.
