A discussion was held under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena to review the progress of the project of the Polonnaruwa Museum and Information Centre being constructed at New Town, Polonnaruwa at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday (14th Aug.).
The construction work carried out under the District Development Project of Pibidemu Polonnaruwa by the President’s Program for Rajarata Nawodaya (New Dawn to Rajarata). The expected expenditure for this project is Rs.600 million.
This Museum and Information Centre will be built to provide historical importance of Polonnaruwa to the future generation as well as for the benefit of the school children.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
