A special program to deliver nutrition food packs and dry rations to the pregnant mothers was held yesterday (16th July) at the President’s House in Kandy, under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena. The program was organized by the Central Province Governor’s Office with the objective of enhancing the maternity health in the province.
Nearly 10,000 packs of dry rations and nutrition packs were delivered among the pregnant women in the province.
President Sirisena joined the lunch provided to the pregnant women at the President’s House.
I. G. Nandasena and Mrs. Indra Kalyani; the parents who consented to donate their son’s heart for a heart surgery met the President at this occasion. The President expressed his gratitude to them for their magnanimous offer.
