President Rajapaksa telephoned President Mohammed Abbas of the Palestinian Authority to find out the latest situation in the Gaza Strip.

When President Abbas briefed him on the civilian casualties in Gaza, President Rajapaksa expressed his condolences about civilian deaths.

During the last seven days of Israeli attacks, 170 Palestine civilians died and more than 1000 have been injured. The Israeli attacks continue.
