    Meethotamulla victims get 65 houses Featured

    Implementing the second phase of the program to provide houses for the Meethotamulla victims, 65 houses were given to the residents by President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (25th April) at the auditorium of the Ministry of Disaster Management.


    Under the first stage 30 houses were given recently.The government has spent Rs 392 million for the houses.

     


    Once the damage of the houses is assessed, the government plans to pay the owners the additional amount of money if their damaged house is worth more than the new house.

     


    Ministers Susil Premajayantha, Patali Champika Ranawaka, Wajira Abeywardena, Deputy Ministers Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Dunesh Gankanda and MP S.M. Marikkar participated on this occasion.
