“Ranaviru Dudaru Scholarship Program” under the patronage of President ^Featured

The 15th and 16th phases of the “Ranaviru Dudaru Scholarship Program” initiated to provide financial support for the education of needy children of the deceased/disabled Tri forces, Police and Civil Defense Force personnel were implemented under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday (25th April).

It was implemented by the Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU) of the Ministry of Defence.

Scholarships were awarded to 80 children of the war heroes and Rs.20, 000 was given to 25 students who are in grade 01 to 05 and Rs.30, 000 was given to 27 students who are in grade six to eight as well as Rs.50, 000 was given to 30 students who are in grade nine to Advanced Level class.

Furthermore, school uniforms and shoes were also provided for those children.

Laptop computers were also given to eight students on this occasion.
