President Mahinda Rajapaksa who visited the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy paid homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic this morning (10). After participating in religious observances, the President called on the Most Ven. Tibbotuwawe Sri Sumangala Mahanayake Thera of the Malwatte Chapter and the Most Ven. Udugama Sri Buddharakkhita Mahanayake Thera of the Asgiriya Chapter and received their blessings.
The President also engaged in conversation with the devotees who had come to pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic.
Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake, Parliamentarian Lohan Ratwatte and the Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela were also present on the occasion.(KH/SI)
