He pointed out the importance of the contribution of the Mahasangha and other religious leaders in drawing the young generation towards the religious places and building a better country.

The President was speaking at the ceremonial opening of the golden fence and the Atavisi Vihara Mandiraya of Ganegama Aramanapola Rajamaha Vihara in Rathnapura, on Sunday (Feb. 26).

 “Every temple gives a great spiritual relief to the people. Adding of new features to the temples will give a strength to the program carried out by the government to build a society filled with moral values”, the President stated.

Aggamaha Panditha Most Ven. Kotugoda Dhammawasa Maha Nayaka Thero, Chief Incumbent of the Sri Pada, Most Ven. Kengamuwe Dhammadinna Nayaka Thero, Minister Thalatha Athukorala, Deputy Ministers Dunesh Gankanda and Karunarathne Paranawithana also participated.
