    President launched several development projects at Polonnaruwa General Hospital

    The vesting of several developments projects at the Polonnaruwa General Hospital with the public and the launching of new development projects under the “RajarataNavodaya- PibidemuPolonnaruwa” programme, with the aim of creating a healthier nation, was held with the patronage of  PresidentMaithripalaSirisena, on  01 January.
     
    The President who arrived at the Polonnaruwa General Hospital conveyed his best wishes to the staff of the Polonnaruwa General Hospital and later joined  the event.
     
    The opening of the Cardiac catheterization unit of the Hospital, laying foundation stones for the three-storey building and the fitness center as well as opening of the Day Care Center were held under the patronage of the President.
     
    The President presented a memento to the Director General of Health Services, Dr. PalithaMahipala, who is scheduled to leave for World Health Organization Regional post, appreciating his service to the country. 
     
    A special memento was also presented to the President to mark his visit to the hospital.
     
    President Sirisena also launched the free of charge Ambulance service by the Cyril Dharmawardana Foundation to the Polonnaruwa General Hospital.
     
    Deputy Minister of Health, FaizalCassim, Chief Minister of the North Central Provincial Council, PeshalaJayarathna, Provincial Councilor, Sampath Sri Nilantha, Director General of Health Services, Dr. PalithaMahipala, the staff of the Polonnaruwa General Hospital, including its Director Dr. SampathIndika Kumara participated at this event.
