The President said the Government will fulfill its duties according to a new strategy to fill the prevalent shortages of development in every district of the country. “Enormous international support has received in this regard”, he said.
President Sirisena points out that the development projects which implement with the participation of the public while strengthening the economy of the rural people are more suitable for our country rather than mega investment projects. He also said that the recently launched national program to plant 10 million Gliricidia tree saplings, is a valuable investment in terms of strengthening the lifestyle of the rural community as well as to generate the electricity.
The President presented symbolically title deeds to the beneficiaries and many programmes held to distribute eyeglasses and dry rations.
The souvenir issued to mark the declare opening of the Siri Seelalankara Naahimigama village was presented to the President by the Minister Sajith Premadasa.
