    President worships historical Emerald Buddha Temple

    President Maithripala Sirisena and the delegation worshipped the historical Emerald Buddha Temple in Bangkok on Saturday (Oct. 08).

    The President, who arrived at the temple engaged in religious activities including worshipping of the Buddha statue.

     

    The Temple of the Emerald Buddha is regarded as the most important Buddhist temple in Thailand. It enshrines the Emerald Buddha, the highly revered Buddha image meticulously carved from a single block of jade.

     

    The President and the delegation also visited the Grand Palace in Bangkok.

     

    President Sirisena will address the Asia Cooperation Dialog tomorrow. He also will attend the dinner to be hosted by the Thai Premier for the Heads of States who attend the Asia Cooperation Dialog.
