During a meeting with the President the Trade Union representatives of the Sri Lanka Customs Department yesterday (09) apprised the President regarding the difficulties faced by them in detail. President instructed the officials to submit a report in this regard as soon as possible.
The possible solutions will be provided to the issues after consultation with the relevant officials.
President pointed out the aim of the Government is to increase its capacity as a profit making Government institution while providing solutions for their issues.
Chulananda Perera, Director General of Customs, General Secretary of the All Ceylon Customs Services Union, J.A. Gunathilaka and others participated on this occasion.
