The FCID’s report points out the directors of the SLTB and the members of the tender board and the chairman have contravened the procurement process and performing outside the prescribed tender procedures of Sri Lanka Government has damaged the government.

Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Nimal Siripala de Silva yesterday (8th March) at the Parliament in response to a question for Oral Answers said this company has violated several chapters of the Customs Ordinance and a trial regarding this is being conducted under that ordinance. The report of the Sri Lanka Customs reveal Rs.298, 094,509 of the state income has been fraudulent sent to India by this company and its employees.

The contract of supplying spare parts for the SLTB buses has been granted to that company after calling bids from the suppliers by publishing a newspaper advertisement on 14th February 2011. This was according to a decision taken by the Board of Directors of the SLTB. Subsequently, considering the delays of supplying spare parts by only one institution, another supplier has been selected to import and supply spare parts under same prices and methodologies in year 2012.
