He made these observations while responding to a question for Oral answers by opposition MP Udaya Gammanpila today in Parliament.
Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam responding said the Volkswagen agency in Sri Lanka has already purchased the selected land for the factory.
The company has made an investment of 265 Billion US Dollars and it will create around 200 job opportunities, said the Minister of Development strategies and International Trade Malik Samarawickema.
The Volkswagen investment came to the country before 2015. Within 2 years the factory will commence operations, the Prime Minister added.
