Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe stated that there wasn't a National Executive Council but several civil organizations who supported the victory of President Maithripala Sirisena after the Presidential Election in January formed a board on their own initiative to discuss about the new government's 100 days program and it was named as the National Executive council.
He stated this today at the Parliament answering a question for oral answers by MP Mahinda Yapa Abeywardane.
Several political and civil organizations even the late Ven. Sobhitha thero were in this National Executive Council which took very important political decisions, he added.
