He stated this today (09) at the Parliament commenting on the debate of the adjournment motion moved by the MP Wijitha Herath on the conflicts faced by the fishermen in many coastal districts due to the illegal fisheries activities of the Indian fishermen.
Mr. Perera further said, we must come to an immediate accordance for making a durable solution for this issue and it is impossible for Sri Lanka to agree with some conditions of Indian fisheries companies.
As well, alleging to the Sri Lanka Navy for not doing their duties well is a mistaken attitude. We expect the support of all sides to make an acceptable answer for the issue and will work to protect the fisheries sources owned to the country, said the minister.
