At the outset, delegation visited the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) – Islamabad. After a warm welcome and a presentation by the Director- ICCBS, Professor Iqbal Choudhary, they had visited Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine & Drug Research and H.E.J Research Institute of Chemistry at ICCBS. Having visited the ICCBS, KDU Vice Chancellor Major General Milinda Peiris and the delegation paid a courtesy call on Vice Chancellor- University of Karachi during which both Vice Chancellors agreed to elevate the academic relations between two universities.
Having completed fruitful interactions at Karachi, the delegation arrived in National Defence University (NDU) Islamabad. At the NDU, the delegation paid courtesy call on President – NDU, Lieutenant General Anwar Ali Hyder HI (M). The close interaction that the delegation had with the NDU counterpart was fruitful and would be enhancing the academic cooperation between two universities.
Furthermore, the delegation visited the Faculty of Contemporary Studies (FCS) NDU, the Army Museum, Army Medical College, Foreign Services Academy, Bahria University, Air University and Heavy Industries – Taxila during their stay at Islamabad. The sightseeing of archeological sites at Taxila, especially the Dharmarajika Stupa built on 3rd century B.C. and Taxila Museum were remarkable.
Dean – Faculty of Defence and Strategic Studies - KDU, Colonel Chandana Wickramasinghe and Director KDU – CARE, Prof. Roshan Perara accompanied the Vice Chancellor during the visit undertaken from June 19 to 26..
