    108 arrested for violating quarantine laws

    Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that 108 individuals have been arrested for violating quarantine laws, not wearing facemasks, and not maintaining social distance within the last 24 hours.

    He said this today (27) addressing the media.

    DIG Ajith Rohana further said that the total number of arrests made since October 30 is 3755 for violating quarantine laws and that the majority of those arrested are from the Western Province.

    Moreover, the Police Spokesman asserted that legal action has been taken against about 3600 of those arrested and that operations are being undertaken on a regular basis.

    Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana requested the public to strictly adhere to quarantine laws, wear face masks and maintain social distance due to the prevailing situation in Sri Lanka.
