    “Matha Project” commences - 20 million saplings from Colombo to Jaffna to be planted

    Joining the tree plantation program held at Viharamahadevi Park on 30th March, Minister of Youth & Sports, Namal Rajapaksa asserted that currently, environmental protection is timely and relevant in Sri Lanka and it is a social responsibility to support in this regard.

    In parallel to this program which was inaugurated at the Viharamahadevi Park, planting 20 million saplings will be started in Sri Lanka from Colombo to Jaffna over 11 days.

    Environmental enthusiasts will take part in an 11-day tree planting cycle safari from Colombo to Jaffna which will conclude on 9 April. The next stage of the tree planting cycle safari will commence thereafter in the rest of Sri Lanka.

    This significant program is organized by the Matha Foundation initiated by Ven. Athuruliye Rathana Thero.

    Ven. Athuraliye Rathana Thero, Minister Namal Rajapaksa, Minister Bandula Gunawardena, member of Matha Foundation Dilantha Malagamuwa, actor Roshan Ranawana were present at the inauguration.
