During his discussions, the Justice Minister stated that the government has allocated Rs. 20 billion in 2021 for the development of the judicial system and such development work should be initiated in consultation with the judges and lawyers.
The Minister informed that a special program has been launched to digitize the entire judiciary within four years and that modern technology should be utilized to develop a system to further enhance the capacity of judges as well as the judiciary in the future.
He further said that everyone has a responsibility to reduce the delays in cases and make the judiciary more efficient and that the construction of court buildings should be suited for at least the next 30 years.
Secretary to the Ministry of Justice M.M.P.K Mayadunne, officials of the Ministry of Justice, and members of the Mount Lavinia Bar Association were also present at this occasion.
