He said that indigenous medical practices are being used at present and discussions were focussed on how best to utilise indigenous medical practices in a more streamlined manner.
The Army Commander noted that so far 3,386 persons have completed their quarantine process and returned to their homes comprising three from the Kundasale quarantine centre, 11 from Boossa, 203 from Mulaithivu. Those who completed the 14-day quarantine procedure at the quarantine centres were advised to further engage in self-quarantine at their homes for a further two weeks.
Out of the 40 quarantines centres operated by the tri-forces, three are handled by the Sri Lanka Air Force, one by the Navy and 36 by the Sri Lanka Army.
A further 1,287 persons are currently in quarantine at these centres while another batch who completed their quarantine procedure is expected to return to their homes tomorrow. They too have been advised to engage in self-quarantine for a further two weeks once they return home.
