This decision was taken due to the prevailing situation with the Coronavirus spreading in the country. Therefore, the government said that this decision would not be changed or relaxed under any circumstance until the situation normalizes.

The Sri Lankan government has banned all passenger flights and ships into the country with the aim of preventing the Coronavirus from entering the country.
