On the directive of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva has been appointed as the Head of the National Operation Center for the Prevention of COVID- 19.
This center will coordinate preventive and management measures to ensure that healthcare and other services of the public are well geared to serve the general public.
All officials depending on the exigency of services will be utilized for the coordination of the services under National Operation Center and they should be available on-call service, the PMD said further.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
