The Central Province Governor had brought this matter to the notice of the authorities and through the State Minister for Railways C.B. Ratnayake’s mediation this special train
service was deployed within a short period for the convenience of the public.

The train service commenced on March 02nd and Minister Ratnayake travelled in the train inquiring into the views of the commuters.

The Chairman of the Central Provincial Council L.D. Nimalasiri, Secretary Kumudini Karunaratne and several other officials joined the state minister on the maiden run of the
