    President can bring peace, happiness to all communities - Anunayaka Thera

    President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s character embodies the four-fold values namely, heroism, skill, eloquence and fortitude, Malwatte Chapter’s Anunayaka Most Ven. Niyangoda Vijithasiri Thera observed yesterday at the Maha Sangha Council meeting with President Rajapaksa. He said that national security has been assured and the people’s aspirations have become more meaningful with Rajapaksa’s election to the presidency.


    President Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday morning met the Maha Sangha Council presided over by the Maha Nayaka of the Malwatte Chapter Most Ven.Thibbotuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Nayaka thera after paying homage at the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy.The Maha Sangha chanted pirith and invoked religious blessings on him.
    The Ven. Anunayaka Thera, giving a brief sermon, said Rajapaksa’s victory would usher in a new chapter to the country. “The Buddhist monks acted in a silent but prudent manner for the victory of Rajapaksa. President Rajapaksa has an efficient, systematic and simple life style. He has the potential to properly deliver any task assigned to him.We wish that he would be able to do a noble service to the country.
    With his meaningful national leadership, we hope he can usher in prosperity to the country. We wish him strength to create peace and happiness among all communities,” the Anunayake Thera said.Diyawadana Nilame Nilanga Dela Bandara, MPs Keheliya Rambukwella and Dilum Amunugama, and former Central Province Governor Tikiri Kobbekaduwa also participated.
