“Following the issue raised by the Tamil National Alliance about the need for Kalmunai North Divisional secretariat to function as a fully fledged independent division, at a meeting was held with the participation of the Prime Minister in early April this year,” he said.“A separate accountant was appointed for the Division who now functions from the divisional secretariat.”
He added that a national committee has been appointed to hear the representation of relevant parties on the issues relating to land and the Grama Niladhari division in this connection. “The work of this committee was delayed due to the Easter attack. This process will be completed as soon as possible within three months,” the Minister’s stated.
