According to Transport & Civil Aviation Ministry, the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake will allow two visitors per person in the lobby area. this new measure was decided upon from 12 noon yesterday. Two visitors per passenger will now be allowed in the lobby area and the security measures will continue as before.
Meanwhile, Air Force said the two visitors, per passenger rule, when picking up or dropping passengers was decided upon due to the tight security measures that are in place at the airport premises.After the Easter Sunday attacks, the BIA tightened its security measures not allowing visitors to accompany passengers to the lobby area.
