In a press release SLTDA stated furthermore, it is better for the market forces to decide the room rates rather than SLTDA dictating terms due to the prevailing situation. The SLTDA also announced that the travel ban on visiting Sri Lanka implemented by China has now been lifted to just being "cautious" when traveling.

The SLTDA said the Authority is confident that the travel advisories will be lifted in the next couple of weeks as they have been working closely with many diplomatic missions since the incident.
