    ‘Galle Dialogue International Maritime Conference on 22nd and 23rd

    A media briefing on the ‘Galle Dialogue International Maritime Conference - 2018’ was held at the Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake Auditorium at SLNS Parakrama last Tuesday (16th October 2018).This year’s conference is scheduled to be held on 22nd and 23rd October at the Galle Face Hotel in Colombo, under the theme ‘Synergizing for Collaborative Maritime Management’.
    Addressing the media personnel, the Navy Chief of Staff expressed that foreign delegates of 50 countries and a large number of local and foreign stakeholders in the maritime fraternity are expected to participate in the Galle Dialogue 2018.


    Further, he added that this unique dialogue organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Defence would be an ideal platform to discuss common issues pertinent to the regional and extra-regional navies as well as other professionals in the maritime sphere.
    Also, Rear Admiral Silva stated that, the organizing committee of the Galle Dialogue, under the able guidance of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe, is making all arrangements ready in full swing, in a bid to conduct a successful conference this year.
    This media briefing organized to disclose the arrangements of the upcoming flagship event of the Navy was presided over by the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear Admiral Piyal De Silva.
    The Director General Operations, Rear Admiral Niraja Attygalle, the Director Naval Operations, Commodore Sanjeewa Dias and a group of journalists from the print and electronic media were present on this occasion.
