Minister Samaraweera revealed this addressing the ceremony to lay the foundation stone for the Central Bus Terminal in Mullativ yesterday. The new Mullativ Bus terminal will be constructed at a cost of over Rs. 90 million.
Minister Rishars Bathiudeen, State Minister Eran Wickremeratne, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance and Mass Media Dr. R.H.S. Samaratunge also participle on this occasion. Pointing out that the Kilinochchi and Mullativ district have been identified as the districts suffering from poverty, Minister samaraweera said that the last budget had allocated Rs. 10 billion for the development of Northern and Eastern provinces and each Divisional Secretariat will be given Rs. 200 million under the Gamperaliya program. Rural development under the Gamperaliya initiative will be carried out under twelve sections.
As revealed by the minister, the aim of the government is to develop the rural areas by creating more small and medium entrepreneurs from these areas.
