    Kandy curfew removes at 10 a.m. and re-imposes at 6. p.m. today Featured

    Government Information Department announced that the curfew imposed in the Kandy administrative district will be lifted at 10.00AM on March 8 and re-imposed at 6.00PM. President Maithripala Sirisena has decided to lift the prevailing curfew today (Thursday, March 8) at 10.00AM after considering the requests from the public to lift the curfew in order to facilitate their acquisition of essential goods such as food.

    According to press release issued by the Director General of the Government Information Department Attorney at law Sudarshana Gunawardana the Secretary to the President Austin Fernando has ordered IGP pujith Jayasundara to lift the curfew at 10.00AM on March 8 and to re-impose it at 6.oopM on the same day.

    The government requests the public to use this period of relief, which has been granted based on compassionate reasons to enable the public to acquire essential goods, in a responsible manner.
