He made this statement at the parliament yesterday (21st Nov.).

“Rs.25 million rupees have been allocated for higher Education standard monitoring Institute.” the Minister said.

Rs. 110 million have been allocated for the Insurance scheme for university undergraduates, he added.

Meanwhile plans are underway to establish Technical Colleges in Kandy, Trincomalee, Ratnapura and Anuradhapura with aid from Germany and Switzerland.

“These will open doors for students who lose opportunity to enter into government universities to study in Technological and Engineering fields” the Minister said.
