The conference on ‘Practical Use Of RTI Act In Sri Lanka’ organized in parallel to the International RTI Day will be held tomorrow (28th Sept.) at Global Tower Hotel in Colombo under the patronage of Minister of Finance and Mass Media Mangala Samaraweera and Deputy Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna.
This will be a platform to share the experience of practical use of RTI by various stakeholders.
Secretary to the ministry R.H.S. Samaratunge, additional secretaries, Director General RTI Commission Piyatissa Ranasinghe and all the Information Officers in the Public Institutions in Western Province will participate on this occasion.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
