Minister of Home Affairs Vajira Abeywardena informed District Secretaries (DS) to utilize all the funds allocated for development projects before 31st December this year and inform about projects with technical problems to the ministry and use the funds for other suitable projects in the district.
He made these comments at the District Secretaries Conference, which commenced today (25th Sept.). The conference will be held tomorrow as well in Colombo.
Minister Abeywardena said that it is the responsibility of the DS and the Divisional Secretaries to coordinate with all the institutions and complete these projects. Therefore, he requested them to pay their attention in this regard in the coming few months.
