The foundation stone was laid for the ‘Amaradewa Asapuwa’, the musical monastery to be constructed in memory of late Pandit W.D. Amaradewa today (28th Aug.) at Apegama, Battaramulla under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.
The Amaradewa Asapuwa will be constructed in a land of 120 perches according to a request made by Maestro Amaradewa. The estimated cost of construction is Rs 200 million will be completed by the first quarter of 2019.
Ministers including Mangala Samraweera, Deputy Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna, and Mrs. Wimala Amaradewa also participated on this occasion.
