    Police to investigate anti-reconciliation statements

    The police said that they expect to conduct investigations against the statements which disrupt reconciliation among the religions and incite communal disharmony.

    Police Spokesman DIG Priyantha Jayakodi said that any statement affecting the reconciliation process of the country will be investigated and legal action will be taken following the consultation of the Attorney General.


    He said that four persons have been arrested in connection with the recent incident that took place in Kurunegala while 14 more suspects have been arrested in connection with such incidents that took place in the recent past.
