    Russian sail training ship ‘Nadezhda’ arrives at the port of Colombo

    The Russian sail training frigate ‘Nadezhda’ arrived at the port of Colombo on goodwill visit today (14th June).

    Making a visit onboard sail training frigate, the Russian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Alexander Karchava is scheduled to open photography exhibition organized by the ship’s crew.

     

    The Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Navy, Rear Admiral Sirimevan Ranasinghe, Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Niraja Attygalle, and Military , Air, and Naval Attaché to the embassy of the Russian Federation in Sri Lanka, Colonel Dmitry A. Mikhaylovskiy are also expected to join this occasion.

     

    The crew of ‘Nadezhda’ has made arrangements ready for school children to visit this sail training ship and enjoy the photography exhibition on 15th, 16th and 17th June. During its three-day stay in Sri Lanka, the ships’ crew is also scheduled to participate in several programs and sporting activities organized by the Sri Lanka Navy.
