Minister of Housing and Construction Sajith Premadasa requests the public to make donations to the 'Sewana Fund' to be used in repairing the houses affected by the floods.
Currently, the government is collecting details of the destroyed or damaged houses while valuations are being done.
The donations can be made to the Account Number 204100140003931 of the People's Bank. Any amount of money can be donated and they will be 100 percent free from income tax, a release from the ministry said.
