    First Indian ship with relief goods arrives in Colombo Featured

    The First Indian cargo Ship carrying relief goods, medical teams and equipment for the flood and landslide victims arrived at the Port of Colombo this morning.

    The relief goods were handed over to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ravi Karunanayake by the High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, Taranjit Singh Sandhu.

     

    The consignment of relief materials including essential commodities such as; dry ration, bottles of drinking water, makeshift shelters and medicine has been shipped to Sri Lanka on the directives of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.  Further, a relief team was also dispatched onboard to swiftly engage in rescue missions going on in flood affected areas.

     

    The second ship is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka tomorrow (28th May).
