The 27th anniversary celebration of the National Library of Sri Lanka will be held tomorrow (4th May) under the theme ‘Building Sustainable Network for the Development of Libraries in Sri Lanka’ at the National Library and Documentation Services Board.
It will be held under the patronage of Minister of Education Akila Wiraj Kariyawasam and the State Minister V. Radhakrishnan.
At the event, 100 set of books costing Rs. 15,000 will be granted to the selected rural libraries (School/ Public) island-wide.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
News.lk publishes in three languages – Sinhala, Tamil and English.
